2015 NCAA Bracket Includes Razorbacks – Finally

2015 NCAA Bracket Is Full of Good Match-Ups

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Just a couple hours after making the program’s sixth SEC Tournament championship appearance, the Arkansas men’s basketball team will return to the NCAA Tournament as the No. 5 seed in the West Region and will take on No. 12 seed Wofford in Jacksonville, Florida on Thursday.

The NCAA Tournament appearance will be Razorbacks’ first since 2008 and the program’s 30th overall. Arkansas earned an at-large bid after finishing second in the SEC regular season standings and second in the SEC Tournament.

The 68-team field for the 2015 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament was released Sunday, and the Wofford Terriers found out they will be playing Arkansas in the tournament’s Second Round. Wofford was given a No. 12 seed in the West region and will take on the fifth-seeded Razorbacks on Thursday at Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville. The game time and network will be announced later tonight.

Wofford (28-6) enters the 2015 NCAA bracket off its best season in program history. The Terriers went 16-2 in Southern Conference play to capture their third regular season title. Last Monday, in the SoCon Tournament final, Wofford won its fourth tournament crown in six years by defeating Furman, 67-64. The 2014-15 season saw the program set records in SoCon wins, regular season wins (25) and overall wins.

The Terriers earned their highest seed in what will be their fourth trip to the big dance. Wofford was a 13 seed in its first trip to the tournament in 2010, falling in a close battle to fourth-seeded Wisconsin, 53-49, also in Jacksonville. The following season, Wofford was a 14 seed in Denver, Colorado against BYU. Last year, the Terriers made it back to the tournament as a 15 seed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin against Michigan.

The Terriers’ four team-pod also includes the No. 4 seed North Carolina and No. 13 seed Harvard. The winner of that game will face the winner of Wofford and Arkansas in the third round on Saturday. Wisconsin holds the No. 1 seed in the West Region.

Wofford has played Arkansas just once before, meeting last on Nov. 9, 2007. The Razorbacks earned a 67-45 win over the Terriers in Fayetteville.

The winner of this game will play next Saturday against the winner of the University of North Carolina and Harvard game.
