A-State Names Adam Haukap Head of Red Wolves Foundation

Adam Haukap

JONESBORO, Ark. – Arkansas State Director of Athletics Terry Mohajir announced Thursday that Adam Haukap has been named Executive Director of the Red Wolves Foundation and Associate Athletics Director.

“I would like to welcome Adam and his wife, Lauren, to the Jonesboro community,” said Mohajir.  “We are excited to have someone of Adam’s experience and expertise directing the Red Wolves Foundation.”

Haukap (pronounced HAW-CAP) will oversee the primary development arm of Arkansas State Athletics after most recently spending the last eight years as Oklahoma State’s Senior Associate Athletics Director for Sales and Marketing.  During his time with the school, Haukap was responsible for developing a large number of fundraising, sales and marketing initiatives which factored into significant growth for OSU Athletics.

Those initiatives included developing a proactive ticket sales and annual fund donation call center, a student-athlete call program designed to increase ticket sales and donor retention, a customer service department aimed to decrease season ticket holder and donor attrition, an analytics department to help make better business decisions based on data, and marketing plans for the football, men’s basketball and Pistol Pete’s Partners (OSU Kids Club) programs.

Haukap’s leadership directly aided an increase in OSU season-ticket sales from 39,000-plus in 2008 to over 50,000 by 2013, which equated to $28 million in season-ticket total revenue.  The Cowboys also increased group sales revenue from $200,000 in 2007 to over $675,000 in 2012 for a growth of over 300 percent.  Haukap was also responsible for implementing sales and marketing campaigns that helped Oklahoma State set every single game and attendance record for Boone Pickens Stadium.

Additionally, Adam Haukap helped OSU realize $6 million annually in premium donations.  He was part of the team that saw annual fund members in the “Posse Club,” the major fundraising organization for OSU Athletics, increase from 6,000 to over 8,500 during his time at the school.

“This is an exciting time for Arkansas State University, and I am thrilled to be a part of the Jonesboro community and Red Wolves’ family,” said Haukap.  “I am certainly looking forward to meeting our fans and donors to start fostering those relationships and helping advance this program.  I would like to thank Terry for the opportunity to be a part of the ‘Red Wolves Rising.’  I believe we can capitalize on the success we’re seeing at A-State to achieve even greater accomplishments, so I am thankful and blessed to be here.”

Prior to joining the Oklahoma State staff, Haukap served as an account executive for Pacers Sports & Entertainment in Indianapolis, Ind., from 2005-07. As a season and group ticket sales executive, he was responsible for servicing customer accounts to ensure ticket renewals, creating sales proposals for prospective clients, and arranging appointments for NBA and WNBA teams.

Haukap also served as a sports marketing intern at Miami (OH) University in the summer of 2005 after working the previous year as a program coordinator for the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Museum, where he recruited and trained a 30-member volunteer staff to provide customer service to museum guests.

The Southern Illinois native earned his Bachelor of Arts in History Education from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville in 2003 and went on to gain his Master of Education in Sport Administration from Xavier University in 2005.  Adam and his wife, Lauren, have two sons, Avery (4) and Ari (2).
