Bears Track Records 13 Firsts at Hendrix Invitational

CONWAY, Ark. _ The University of Central Arkansas turned in 13 first-place finishes at last weekend’s Hendrix Invitational, including nine on the women’s side and four by the men’s squad. 

The UCA women got a double by Tanesha Maxwell in the 100 meters (12.14) and the 200 meters (24.72) and from Jean Black in the 100 meter hurdles (14.54) and the 400 meter hurdles (1:02.23), which broke her own school record. Jasmine Ellis added another double, winning both the high jump (5-5) and the long jump (18-7.25). 

Jordan Chadwick took the 1500 meters (5:01.47), while April Martin won the triple jump (38-2.25). UCA’s 4×100 relay team also finished first (46.60).

Leah Johnson was second in the 400 meters (59.52) and Abbie Linna was second in the 800 meters (2:31.21) and third in the 1,500. McKinley Rea was second in the pole vault (10-10), while Alex Dorch was second in both the long jump (18-1.75) and the triple jump (36-9.50). 

Tasha Bryles finished second in the discus (109-0.25), while Anilah Bashir was second in both the 100 (12.24) and 200 (24.79). Carolin Tran was third in the 3,000 steeplechase (12:44.76).

On the men’s side, Tim Arnold won the 400 meter hurdles (58.00), with Matthew Bogues second and Pierce Pipak third. Daniel Reese won the pole vault (14-9) and Anthony Faris-King took the long jump (22-1.75) and was seventh in the triple jump (42-3.25). Tanner Tolbert was first in the javelin (150-11.25).

Baykal Altiner was second in the hammer (127-1.50) third in the shot put (38-3.25) and fifth in the discus (110-8.25). Jeremiah Fleeman was third in the 3,000 steeplechase (10:22.33) and Trey Carter was third in the 110 meter hurdles (18.68).

Edward Limo finished third in the 1,500 meters (4:05.65), followed by Amos Gerber in fourth (4:05.77), Albert Maeder in fifth (4:10.18) and Jacob Sanders in sixth (4:10.83). Corentin Louis was second in the 800 (1:57.06), with Connor Ryan third (1:59.78) and James Leonard fourth (2:00.42). 

Kelton Ray finished second in the 400 meters (50.33), followed by Trey Carter (50.40) in third. Chance Tanner was third in the 100 meters (10.95). UCA’s 4×100 team was second (42.05).
