Bret Bielema – Every Little Thing Gonna Be Alright

We know new Razorback head football coach Bret Bielema likes Reggae music and chilling out in flip flops around the office, escaping to the island in his mind’s eye while at work.

These are habits and outlooks we can fully endorse. Flip flops, and Bob Marley are a couple of great ways to keep cool. And a supportive administration – that helps, too – when the rumor is your new offensive line coach Sam Pittman is being wooed by mean ol’ Nick Saban and Alabama.

Don’t worry… ’bout a thing…

Bret Bielema addressed two pressing issues facing Razorbacks fans this morning. First, he is not going to be driving a motorcycle today. That’s good great news. The second issue was regarding comments he was reported to have made at a Razorback Club meeting in Saline County late last week.

Bielema’s comments which were reported as though they were part of his prepared remarks have been widely reported.

“The reason the SEC is talked about all the time is one team, because of their dominance. But I didn’t come here to play Alabama. I came here to beat Alabama.

And

“You can take Saban’s record when he was at Michigan State and when he was a coach in the Big Ten and put it against mine, and he can’t compare.”

Bielema responds below, via Twitter.

Well, by now you’ve probably heard about the shakeup of the football roster with the departure of four Razorbacks, including quarterback Brandon Mitchell.

It’s typically days like this when we feel obligated to remind you to chill a minute. Relax, man. Think about the sea breeze, the palm trees and listen to a little reggae music. Our suggested Razorback Reggae Music Playlist is here for days just like this one.

UPDATE from Island Time May 31, 2013

Here we go again – the president of Ohio State University, Gordon Gee, takes a shot at Bret Bielema in newly reported transcripts from audio in which he takes shots at the SEC, Notre Dame and Catholics, generally. Here is what Gee had to say about Bielema, specifically:

“Someone was saying to me, well, you know, Bret Bielema leaving … that was a blessing for Wisconsin and they knew it. Because he was under tremendous pressure. They didn’t like him. Barry Alvarez thought he was a thug. And he left just ahead of the sheriff.”

We don’t have a clue what Gee is talking about, but we do think, if there was a sheriff coming to town, Bielema would be more likely to shoot him. Happy Friday, and don’t worry, main. Every little thing is still gonna be alright.
