Go! Running Turkey Trot Benefits Arkansas Foodbank

Go! Running of Little Rock is back hosting its annual Go!bbler Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day, benefitting the Arkansas Foodbank. The Turkey Trot has grown into the undisputed way to begin Thanksgiving Day for thousands of runners across the nation.

The run will begin at 8:00 am on November 27th at Go! Running located in The Heights on 1819 N Grant St.  The run offers group options of 3 miles, 4 miles, and 6.5 miles that cover many aspects of running such as road, track, trail, and other “surprises” along the way – essentially a tour of Hillcrest and The Heights!  Not a race, but a family group run – no entry fee, no chips, no timing but a whole lot of fun. The run begins next to Go! Running and finishes back at the store.

How To Register:

The Go!bbler Turkey Trot is a FREE family run – simply bring non-perishable food items or cash donations for the Arkansas Foodbank.  Santa will be there to help collect the food.  Register online at www.gorunning.com/gobbler for the free run, and if you register by November 24th, you’re eligible TO WIN a Thanksgiving turkey (fresh, local farm raised) from Hillcrest Artisan Meats on Kavanaugh.

* Meet Santa, * Costume Prizes, * Enter to Win a Pie * Commemorative Go!bbler Shirts for sale.

“Out of all of the races and runs we do each year, the Go!bbler is the most meaningful,” says Gary Taylor, owner of Go! Running. “We get to donate close to 2,500 lbs. of food to the Arkansas Foodbank, right at the time of year families needed it most!   Did you know that 2,000 lbs of food makes 1,600 meals? It’s great knowing that many of our neighbors will enjoy the holidays more because of this outstanding running community.” This year, we’re raising the stakes to help on this quest to support hunger. We want to FILL THAT TRUCK!  The AR Foodbank will have a big truck at the run this year. And we think our community is up for the challenge.

And there’s one more payoff for waking up early on the holiday — pies from YaYa’s, and fresh Southern-style pecans from the Capital Hotel will be rewarded to winners of surprise categories. Thanksgiving-themed costumes are encouraged! Awesome commemorative “Comfort Color” long sleeve shirts will be available (starting Nov 14th) for $25.

Water, drinks, and light refreshments from Old Mill Bakery and the Capital Hotel will be available after the run.  For more information, stop by Go! Running in the Heights, or call 501-663-6800. Proud to partner with the Little Rock Athletic Clubs, LRRoad Runners Club, The Capital Hotel, YaYas, HAM – Hillcrest Artesian Meats.
