FAYETTEVILLE – Former University of Arkansas volleyball standout Kim (Storey) Chronister was recently inducted into the Bellevue West High School Athletic Hall of Fame in recognition of her prep career. A native of Bellevue, Neb., Chronister was a four-year letterwinner for Arkansas from 1995-98.

During her senior season, Chronister became the second All-American in program history when she was named to the AVCA All-America Second Team. She also garnered 1998 AVCA All-District 4 and NCAA All-East Region Team accolades. That same year, she was named the AVCA National Player of the Week after posting a .500 hitting percentage with 4.86 kills per set in a pair of wins over Alabama and Auburn.

Chronister was a three-time All-Southeastern Conference selection during her career in Cardinal and White. She was a member of the all-conference first team as a senior and was a second-team performer in 1996 and 1997. She was also a two-time SEC All-Tournament selection as a junior and senior, helping Arkansas to the SEC Tournament title in 1997.

She was part of three NCAA Tournament teams at Arkansas. In 1998, Chronister and the Razorbacks advanced to the regional final for the first time in program history. Additionally during her career, she was a three-time SEC Player of the Week, twice named to the Arkansas Athletic Department Honor Roll and was a member of the 1998 SEC Academic Honor Roll.

Fourteen years after her collegiate career, Chronister still ranks high in several categories in the Arkansas records book. She ranks first all-time in hitting percentage (.365), third in service aces (135) and points scored (1,929) and fourth in total blocks (555), digs (1,143) and kills (1,471). She is one of just six players in program history to accumulate 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs during her career.
