MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Coming off of a 3-1 week which was highlighted by a pivotal series win against the No.19-ranked Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys, the Southern Arkansas baseball team remains nationally-ranked in the three NCAA Division II baseball polls that were released on Monday.

The Muleriders (21-10, 14-4 GAC), who won a mid-week non-conference game against Henderson State, capped off the week with a 2-1 series win over nationally-ranked Arkansas Tech. The solid week has the Muleriders ranked as high as No. 16 according to the College Baseball Lineup poll. Last week, the CBL poll had the Muleriders ranked No. 18.

In the other national polls, the Muleriders fell down a spot from No.17 to No. 18 in the D2baseball News poll, but the top team in the GAC moved up two spots from No. 19 to No. 17 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll. The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) National Poll will not be released until Tuesday, March 26th.

In the series against Arkansas Tech, the Muleriders took the first two games of the series, but fell just short in the series finale. In the two wins, the Muleriders scored 20 runs allowing the starters to go the distance. In fact, the Muleriders did not make one move to the bullpen over the weekend.

In the upcoming week, the Muleriders will travel to Marshall, Texas on Tuesday to take on Wiley College for a doubleheader as part of mid-week action. For the weekend, the Muleriders will travel to Durant, Okla. to take on Southeastern Oklahoma.

The series with Southeastern Oklahoma is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29th.
