Razorback Report: Robb Smith Curious About Team’s ‘Football IQ’

FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas football team continued spring practice on Thursday afternoon inside Walker Pavilion. Defensive coordinator Robb Smith was available to the media and spoke about the team’s practice.

“We’ve done a lot of good things offensively, we’ve done a lot of good things defensively at this point in time in practice,” Smith said. “You’re going to win some reps, you’re going to lose some other ones, but I like our attitude at this point in time. I think we’re able to go back on things that we’ve already installed and recall those things and now try to polish them up and get them to where they need to be come fall.”

Robb Smith also spoke about the upcoming scrimmage that the team will hold on Saturday. The scrimmage is open to the public with Gate 1 opening at 11 a.m. For more information on Saturday’s open scrimmage, click here.

“I want to see how our guys react,” Smith said. “We’re going to play football a little bit, see where they are from a football IQ standpoint. That’s one thing that we’ve spent a lot of time on thus far this spring. We get a chance to play different downs and different distances and different situations and watch our guys play for the first time in a scrimmage-type setting.”
