The Central Arkansas baseball season is just around the corner, as the Bears begin their 2013 season at home on Feb. 15-17 against Murray State.

The Bears are coming off their most successful Division I season, winning 25 games including 16 in Southland Conference play and going 19-10 at Bear Stadium. They were selected fifth in the 2013 Southland preseason poll, and have three preseason all-conference picks in seniors Forrestt Allday and Ethan Harris, and junior Jonathan Davis.

Reserved chair back seats are still available for the season at a cost of $150, less than $6 per game. The seating arrangement at Bear Stadium has undergone a change from previous seasons, with the chair backs concentrated in four rows (two at bottom, two at top) directly behind home plate and in the first section along the third base line. For further ticket information, call the ticket office at 501-852-2234.

The home schedule features 27 games in all, including four Southland Conference series with Lamar, Nicholls State, Southeastern Louisiana and Stephen F. Austin coming to Conway. Southeastern Louisiana was picked 2nd in the league’s preseason poll, and SFA was 4th.

Among the other games at Bear Stadium include a series with future Southland member University of New Orleans, and single games against in-state foes UALR and UAPB. The Bears will play 11 of their first 12 games at home, with the season-opening series against Murray State plus three games against Jackson State and two against Mississippi Valley State before wrapping up the home stand with UNO. The lone road game is at Vanderbilt on Feb. 20.
