UCA Golf Tied for Seventh at Kiawah Island Intercollegiate

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. _ The University of Central Arkansas is tied for seventh place after one round of the 32-team Kiawah Island Intercollegiate being played at Cougar Point and Oak Point courses.

UCA shot a first-round 311 and is tied with Florida Gulf Coast and Samford for seventh place, with two rounds remaining. College of Charleston leads the large field at 292, followed by Campbell (301), Troy and Daytona State College (302), Richmond (306), Elong (310), UCA, Samford and FGC (311), Oral Roberts, St. Johns and Jacksonville State (312), Wofford and UNC-Greensboro (314), Newberry (315), North Florida, Longwood, High Point and Winthrop (316), Radford (317), Presbyterian and Charleston Southern (320), Tennessee Tech (324), Bucknell (326), IUPUI (327), Marshall (328), Stephen F. Austin (329), Western Kentucky (330), Farleigh Dickinson (333), The Citadel (337), Towson (339) and Loyola (344).

UCA senior Julia Roth is tied for seventh individually with a 73 in the opening round. Junior Carly Dear is tied for 22nd with a 76, while sophomore Malin Senneryd is tied for 78th at 80. Freshman Sarah Brown is tied for 105st (82) and freshman Frida Svensson is tied for 165th (92).
