2013-14 Razorback Basketball Schedule Released

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The complete University of Arkansas Razorback basketball schedule was unveiled on Monday via the team’s twitter account @RazorbackMBB. The 13-game non-conference slate features nine games at Bud Walton Arena and one at Verizon Arena in Little Rock.

The nine non-conference games and previously announced nine SEC home games give the Razorbacks 18 regular season games at Bud Walton Arena where they are 271-66 all-time.

“This non-conference schedule will provide our team with a lot of challenges early on,” said head coach Mike Anderson. “We know the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational is a premiere event with great teams and we look forward to playing in it. The schedule also gives our loyal fan base an opportunity to watch this team grow and develop. We’ll be well prepared for SEC action.”

The Razorbacks will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Bud Walton Arena by officially opening their third season under coach Anderson against SIU-Edwardsville on Friday, Nov. 8. It marks the first meeting between the two teams while Arkansas is 20-0 all-time in home openers at Bud Walton Arena.

After a week off from game action, Arkansas returns to Bud Walton for a pair of games over four days when it hosts Louisiana Lafayette on Friday, Nov. 15, and SMU on Monday, Nov. 18. The meeting with Louisiana is part of the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational as the Ragin Cajuns will be one of the teams participating in the Regional Tournament in Conway, S.C. Led by head coach Larry Brown, SMU is entering its first year in the newly-formed American Athletic Conference and the meeting will be the 153rd between the two programs.

Arkansas and Pac-12 member California will open play at the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational on Monday, Nov. 25, at 2 p.m. on ESPN2. Each team in the Maui Invitational will play three games with the Razorbacks’ second opponent being either Syracuse or Minnesota. The tournament runs from Nov. 25-27.

The Razorbacks will enjoy five days off before returning to Bud Walton Arena where it will play four consecutive games, beginning with Southeastern Louisiana on Tuesday, Dec. 3. Arkansas will then turn its attention to Clemson on Saturday, Dec. 7, when the Tigers become just the second ACC team to ever visit Bud Walton Arena.

The four-game homestand continues with Savannah State on Thursday, Dec. 12, and concludes with Tennessee-Martin a week later on Dec. 19, for the final game in Fayetteville prior to the Christmas holiday. The Razorbacks will make their annual trip across the state to Verizon Arena in Little Rock to host South Alabama on Saturday, Dec. 21. The Razorbacks are 82-25 all-time in Little Rock.

Arkansas returns from Christmas to face High Point on Saturday, Dec. 28, at Bud Walton Arena before it closes out non-conference action and rings in the New Year at home against Texas-San Antonio on Saturday, Jan. 4.
