LITTLE ROCK – The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is asking the public to provide feedback on the state’s proposed 2015 fishing regulations. Any comments or concerns can be provided by going to the Regulation Survey to take a quick online survey here.
The following considerations are being surveyed for the 2014-15 season:
- Remove reduced creel and slot limits on Grandview Lake No. 1.
- Replace 13- to 16-inch slot limit with 13-inch minimum length limit for largemouth bass on DeGray Lake (no size restriction on spotted bass).
- Change current daily creel limit from 10 to 6 black bass combined (largemouth, spotted and smallmouth) for DeGray Lake.
- Remove yellow bass from the sport fish list and add it to the rough fish list.
- Establish a 10-inch minimum length limit for crappie (white and black) on Craig D. Campbell Lake Conway Reservoir.
- Establish a statewide daily limit of 30 crappie (excluding current exceptions).
- Include Bald Knob Community Pond, Conway Station Park and Lake Keith in the Community Fishing Program restrictions.
- Prohibit limblines within Buffalo National River.
- Remove silver redhorse from the commercial fish species.
- Remove double points for bass-related violations on Lake Monticello, Lower White Oak Lake, Lake Columbia, SWEPCO Lake, Lake Pickthorne and Lake Austell.
- Open Morgan Point Bendway to commercial fishing.
- Open a commercial fishing special season on Calion Lake.
- Close commercial fishing on the Ouachita River upstream of U.S. Highway 79B bridge in Camden.
- Establish an upstream boundary for commercial fishing at the Arkansas Highway 367 bridge on the Little Red River.
- Prohibit the take and possession of the Ouachita streambed salamander.
