The Arkansas Banshees, members of the Women’s Spring Football League, a semi-professional team in Little Rock, competed for the league’s national title June 29 against the Memphis Dynasty in Memphis, Tenn.

The final score was 30-12 in favor of the Dynasty.

The Arkansas Banshees owner, Rae Meyer, said despite the loss, she was proud of her team and its efforts. This was only the second season for the Arkansas Banshees as a team.

“I am very proud of our second year team winning division championship and making it to the big game,” Meyer said. “We are in our second year of playing and have just excelled. We were the Heartland Division Champions. I’ve never seen such a dedicated, hard working group of women as these Arkansas Banshees.”

The Arkansas Banshees are a women’s full-contact , semi-pro football team, who play their home games on the field at Catholic High School in Little Rock.

The mission of the WSFL is simple: “We give women the opportunity to play football; ANY brand of football.”
