FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas Razorback football team continued its second week of preseason practice Thursday afternoon on the outdoor practice fields. Cornerbacks coach Taver Johnson met with the media following practice and talked about how the second week of camp has been going for the team.

“Guys have been working hard,” Johnson said. “Today wasn’t one of our better days, but you are going to have those days sometimes. The guys fought through it though. We are right in the middle of camp and the guys see it. The one thing that was happening was there were some pads popping. That was good to hear and see.”

Johnson also commented on what he is looking for in Saturday’s scrimmage from the Arkansas Razorback football team.

“We are looking for crazy effort,” Johnson said. “That’s one thing we talk about all the time. We just have to have more of it. We tried hard last time. I think being in the stadium having a little atmosphere and having the music turned on kind of shocked us a little bit. We need to try and come out of the gate and get going right away. Tackling, obviously is something that we want to make sure we get better at every day. Any chance you get to go live like we will this Saturday, that is going to be huge.”

Following practice, the football team was visited by University of Arkansas Chancellor G. David Gearhart. Chancellor Gearhart provided the team with an encouraging speech inside the Fred W. Smith Football Center.

The Razorbacks will host their annual Fan Day on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. inside Bud Walton Arena. For more information, click here.
