Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys Sign 30 New Players

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – 30 new players will join the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys football program, with 20 of the newcomers coming from Arkansas, head coach Raymond Monica announced Wednesday.

“I appreciate all the efforts of the coaching staff and the entire campus community for helping bring these kids to our program,” said Monica. “I’m very excited about this class, and excited to get them here in the fall to compete. I also look forward to working with the seven mid-year transfers during the spring.”

Blake Burks

A two-time Player of the Week selection… James Street Award finalist… Team MVP… finished his senior campaign with 153 tackles.

Gary Burton
DE / 6-2 / 210 / Maumelle, Arkansas (Maumelle)
A first team all-state selection as a senior… also named all-conference as a junior and senior… a two-year captain, notched 10 sacks his senior year… registered over 100 tackles in his final two season… a two-time all-conference selection in basketball… a four-year team captain in basketball… was named senior class president, while attending Boys State… an honor roll student.

Kevin Chamorro

Trey Fleming

Participated in the Mississippi Private High School All Star Game… 24 touchdowns, two punt returns and two kickoff returns for touchdowns.

Jake Folkerts
LS-WR /6-4 / 200 / Alma, Arkansas (Alma)
Played on a state semifinalist team as a junior and a semifinalist as a sophomore… a two-year starter at wideout and deep snapper… finished second on the team with 20 catches as a senior… had 204 receiving yards and three touchdowns… also started three years in baseball, playing for a state finalist and was a two-time all-conference pick.

Daniel Goodman

A two-time all-conference selection… elected to the tri-lake all-area team… outstanding lineman of the conference… an all-state selection, elected to play in the all-star game… 33 pancake blocks, 41 knockdown blocks, and 61 total tackles… 15 tackles for loss, including six sacks… three frced fumbles… an all-conference selection in basketball and two-time MVP of the Garland County Tournament.

Haden Hawkins
