As Signing Day Nears for Recruits, Tenpenny Speculation Rises

We stumbled across an interesting report out of Alabama this morning regarding North Little Rock’s standout running back, Altee Tenpenny. Queue dramatic, Law & Order-style tones: Enter – Auburn.

As you may know, Tenpenny has been committed to Alabama and Nick Saban for a year now. You may also recall Jim Harris reporting earlier this week that some in Alabama aren’t as convinced as many Arkansas fans that star running back is as committed to the Crimson Tide as he has been. Now comes the speculation from Alabama, in the form of a post at al.com.

Tenpenny has already visited his home-state team Arkansas and is still being pursued by Auburn, where new head coach Gus Malzahn hired running backs coach Tim Horton from the Razorbacks. His previous relationship with Tenpenny, plus the opportunity to contribute right away for the Tigers, has Auburn coaches hopeful they still have a chance with the top-ranked player in Arkansas.
