FAYETTEVILLE – Former Razorback volleyball teammates Roslandy Acosta and Jasmine Norton will face one another for a second time as professionals when their teams play each other Thursday in the Puerto Rico Superior League. The two former Arkansas standouts each signed professional contracts following their 2012 senior season in Fayetteville.

Acosta plays for the Valencianas de Juncos club while Norton is a member of Leonas de Ponce. The two met for the first time this season on Feb. 10 with Norton helping her team to a four-set road win. In the match, Acosta had four kills, five digs and a block while Norton totaled seven kills, 16 digs and one block.

Juncos and Ponce will play once more this season on March 5. Entering Thursday’s match, Norton and Leonas de Ponce are 7-2 this season and are in second place in the league standings. Valencianas de Juncos is 3-7 through the first 10 matches of the season.

In their final collegiate season, Acosta and Norton led the Razorbacks’ offensive attack and helped lead Arkansas back to the NCAA Tournament for the program’s first appearance since 2006. For their season’s work, both were selected AVCA All-America Honorable Mention performers and received All-SEC honors—first-team honors for Acosta and second-team accolades for Norton.
