RUSSELLEVILLE, Ark. – Senior shortstop David Harris has been named as the Great American Conference Player of the Week for the week-ending April 9 as it was announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

Harris, who had a hit in all four games over the last week, earned his second GAC Player of the Week honor of the season after he absolutely tore the cover off the ball in the series against East Central. In that series, seven of Harris’ nine hits went for extra bases. Of those, Harris racked up five doubles, one triple, and one homerun.

Registering multiple hits in each game of the three-game set with ECU, Harris saved his best for the final game as he was a perfect 4-for-4 with a walk, a homerun, three doubles, and five RBIs.

In the previous game against East Central, Harris was a homerun shy of hitting for the cycle.

Overall for the week, Harris hit .588 (10-for-17) and slugged 1.176 while registering a .650 on-base percentage.
