Jim Harris Live: Arkansas at Missouri (Can the Hogs Go 3 in a Row?)

It’s game day: Arkansas at Missouri. Grab some Thanksgiving leftovers and turn the tv set on to CBS. The game starts at 1:30. Can the Hogs to continue the winning ways and beat the Tigers?

Jim Harris will be posting his thoughts throughout the game here, so check this page often. (Scroll down about halfway and you’ll see the posts from Jim.)

And this report from Fayetteville. Not only is the conference generated “rivalry,” this one also has a name, and not just a name – a sponsor of the name. FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. –Arkansas will wear its all-Cardinal home uniforms for Friday’s Battle Line Rivalry presented by Shelter Insurance in Columbia, Mo. Missouri will also wear its black home jerseys. Friday marks the inaugural game of the Battle Line Rivalry and both teams have agreed to wear their respective home jerseys for the first two games of the series, including next year’s contest in Fayetteville. The Razorbacks are 2-0 this season when wearing the Cardinal helmet, Cardinal jersey and Cardinal pants combination. Arkansas wore all-Cardinal in shutout victories over No. 17 LSU and No. 8 Ole Miss the past two weeks. The Battle Line Rivalry presented by Shelter Insurance will kick off at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28. The game between Arkansas and Missouri will be nationally televised on CBS. Arkansas at Missouri
Missouri has schemed really well for Arkansas’s strong side formations all day. Another good stop of 2 yards with seven guys on the right of the formation.
Arkansas hasn’t been able to take advantage of field position at midfield or thereabouts a couple of times this half. Now the Hogs have to go 75 yards to regain the lead. My question is, does Jim Chaney have a long enough leash to call anything but these running plays that aren’t gaining much.
Maty Mauk makes a great pass down the left sideline to Jimmie Hunt, who had dropped two passes earlier deep. Again he had Tevin Mitchel defending as Mizzou was in five receiver formation, and again Hunt juggled it but held on this time for a 50-yard play to put the Tigers in great shape and flip the momentum. Mauk and the Tigers took it from there, using the pass to put it in. Hunt beat Mitchel in the right corner for a fade route of 4 yard and the score. Then, to tie the game, the Tigers used some razzle dazzle, a reverse to Bud Sasser who hit a wide open Darius White in the right corner, the same spot as the touchdown, to even the game at 14 with 12:41 to play. Arkansas has done absolutely nothing on offense to threaten, despite all the chances the Tigers have given them in the second half. Arkansas also didn’t have the guts to try a 50-yard field goal by Adam McFain. The Tigers, meanwhile, drove 98 yards in 10 plays to tie the game.
Arkansas 14-6, end of third quarter — Another deflected pass on first and 10 from the 16. Ball just out of reach of a defender. Flowers with the PBU. Arkansas has gone 11 straight quarters without allowing a touchdown.
Now, Brandon Allen is missing his passes horribly. Arkansas has a great chance to score, but a couple of the route calls allowed for the passes were no chance anyway. One throw had just one receiver in Allen’s sights and he threw it away. Arkansas punts the Tigers to their 4.
