Jim Manney Earns First Team All-Conference Honors

Walnut Ridge, Ark. – The American Midwest Conference released its post-season baseball All-Conference and gold glove teams on Wednesday, and seven Williams Baptist College Eagles were honored.

Jim Manney took home First Team All-Conference honors.  Manney is a junior designated hitter from Little Rock, Ark.  The power hitter scorched eight home runs while driving in 30 runs on the season.  He did this while maintaining a team leading .396 batting average.  He also compiled 57 hits on the season.

“Jim was huge for us this year.  He came up clutch in some key situations.  When we needed a ball hit hard, he would come through for us, especially during conference play,” said Head Coach Frank Lee.

Cogan Ford of Bono, Ark., earned the honor of receiving a gold glove.  The third baseman had a .916 fielding percentage and committed a mere 10 errors in 45 games.  He compiled 70 assists and 39 putouts at the hot corner.

“Cogan made some unbelievable plays.  He took away at least a dozen extra-base hits,” said Lee.

Six Eagles landed on the Honorable Mention All-Conference team.  The list consists of Blake Coffman of Keiser, Ark.; Mitchell Dennis of Neeleyville, Mo.; Kendall Fay of Piedmont, Mo.; Cogan Ford; Drew Tullos of Little Rock; and Tyler Williams of Paragould, Ark.
