Walnut Ridge, Ark. – The Williams Baptist College Lady Eagles beat the Spartans from Missouri Baptist University, 75-66, on Saturday, Feb. 16. The game, played in the Southerland-Mabee Center in Walnut Ridge, pitted two teams tied for fourth place in the American Midwest Conference.

A back and forth first half saw the Spartans lead the Lady Eagles 33-31 going into the break. However, WBC would come out firing in the second half, outscoring MBU 44-33 on their way to the victory.

Cheyenne Childers continues to lead the Lady Eagles. She scored 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the floor while collecting seven rebounds. Michaela Thompson scored 12 points, and Sharonda Brabson collected 11 points to round up the Eagles in double figures.

WBC shot 47 percent from the floor in the game, including 4-of-10 from beyond the arc.

The win moved the Lady Eagles into sole possession of fourth place in the AMC. With only two AMC games remaining, this puts WBC in prime position to host an opening round tournament game for the second straight season.

Williams overall record stands at 15-13 and 8-8 in the AMC. They will host Benedictine-Springfield University on Thursday, Feb. 21. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. The school will be honoring its lone senior, Katie Thomas, for senior day.
