Lady Lions Come Up Short against TSU

Pine Bluff, Ark- On Saturday, with clear skies and plenty of sunshine, it was Senior Day as the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Lady Lions hosted the Texas Southern University Lady Tigers in a SWAC western division doubleheader. The Lady Tigers took games, 8-0 for the first game and 11-1 for the second game.

In game one, TSU outhit 14-3, en route to an 8-0 victory. The Lady Lions couldn’t get it going offensively, as Heather Leigh, Tiressa Jacobs and Delya Jackson all registered hits for UAPB. The Lady Lions stranded for four runners over five innings.

In the second half of the doubleheader, the Lady Tigers bested the Lady Lions to a score of 11-1. The Lady Lions got on the scoreboard in their half of the first inning when Kelsey Ridgeway singled to bring Jacobs around for UAPB’s only run of the game. 

Both clubs will meet on Sunday for the wrap-up game. The first pitch is set for 11 AM.
