Lady Lions Defeat Lady Tigers in Make- Up Game

Monroe, La. – Today, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Lady Lions resumed play against the Jackson State University Lady Tigers in make-up action at the ULM Softball Complex. This was a game that postponed from the SWAC Round – Up in Longview, Tex. 

Play resumed with UAPB holding a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third. Lady Lion’s pitcher Lacie Sutterfield retired the first three JSU batters to close out the inning. 

In the top of the fourth inning, Lady Lions Jasmine Hardwrick fought off several pitches before ripping a two out triple down the leftfield line. The lone hit for the Lady Lions in the inning scored Jordan Foyer who drew a walk, giving UAPB a 2-0 lead. In the bottom of the fifth, JSU’s Felicia Wilson hit an RBI double to cut the lead in half, 2-1. The lead would hold as the Lady Lions took the make-up victory.

Sutterfield scattered seven hits throughout seven innings of work as she earned her 11th win of the season this win brings the Lady Lions to, 11-24 overall 9-5 in conference.
