Lady Reddies Tennis Beats LeTourneau 8-1

The Henderson State women’s tennis team improved to 3-1 on the season as the Lady Reddies beat LeTourneau 8-1, Tuesday in Longview, Texas.

Henderson State swept through the doubles matches to take an early 3-0 lead, then claimed five of the six singles matches.

Sarah Camras and Brittany Harness improved to 3-1 on the year at No. 1 doubles as the duo beat Sarah Case and Shelby May 8-3.

At No. 2 doubles, the duet of Jenny Cecotti and Tyler Reaves remained unbeaten with an 8-5 victory over Nell Spencer and Kayla Bonina, while Emily Eggleston and Monica Woodward recorded an 8-4 win over Miranda Lamb and Brittany Cowan at No. 3 doubles.

In singles action, Cecotti remained unbeaten at No. 2 singles with an easy 6-1, 6-0 win over Spencer to improve to 4-0 on the year.

Harness blanked her competitor at No. 3 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win against May, while Reaves rebounded from an opening set loss to Bonina (5-7) by winning the second set and tie-breaker, 6-0 and 10-6.

At No. 5 singles, Woodward beat Cowan 6-3, 6-1, with Eggleston winning at No. 6 singles 6-1 and 6-2 over Victoria Zhang.

Henderson State was originally scheduled to play host to Delta State on Sunday, but the match has been postponed. The Lady Reddies will next be in action on Feb. 26 when Henderson plays host to Harding at the Bettye Wallace Tennis Center with first serve set for 1 p.m.
