Lady Tiger Basketball Team Receives Top 25 Votes

Lady Tigers BasketballLILBURN, Ga.– Despite entering the season as an underdog according to Great American Conference coaches, who picked them to finish fifth in the preseason poll, the Lady Tigers received votes in this week’s USA Today Sports Top 25 Coaches Poll.

Ouachita currently sits as one of two GAC universities represented in the WBCA poll, as Southwestern Oklahoma State has also received votes this week.

The Lady Tigers have received votes after kicking their season off with a 7-1 record, including a 4-0 mark in conference play. The Lady Tigers dropped their season opener against Texas Woman’s University on a last second make, but have since gone on a seven game tear, turning heads along the way.

The Lady Tigers defeated Texas A&M-Commerce by a score of 71-56 on Saturday, December 15. They will not play again until December 29, when they host the Lady Statesmen of Delta State University at 3 p.m.

The USA Today Sports Top 25 poll is voted on by 33 head coaches from Division II institutions around the country.
