Nashville at Arkadelphia – FM 103.7 The Buzz Game of the Week

Trey SchaapSometimes at the beginning of a football season, fans point to a particular game on their schedule. For Nashville fans it is this Friday night when the Scrappers travel to Arkadelphia to take on the Badgers.

Last year Arkadelphia traveled to Nashville and survived “The Hill” 56-42 in a come-from-behind win by scoring the final 35 points of the game. That win propelled the Badgers to a share of the 7-4A conference title.

Friday night Jakahari Howell will try and keep the Badgers’ season record perfect after guiding them through the non-conference portion of their schedule with a 3-0 record.

Howell has completed 43 of his 55 pass attempts for 649 yards and 5 touchdowns, and he has rushed for 309 yards on 30 carries and added another seven touchdowns on the ground.

The Badgers have not been tested yet this year in wins over 6A-South members Benton and Sheridan and Class-5A member Hot Springs. The combined score for the Arkadelphia Badgers in those games – 154-48.

Could their first test come this week?

The Scrappers are led by LaMichael Pettway who at 6-3, 195 pounds, is a threat anytime he touches the ball. Nashville lost its season opener to Hope 35-21, but bounced back with wins over De Queen and Watson Chapel, and the team is looking to get their conference campaign off on the right foot.

The High School Football Game of the Week Driven by Fletcher Kia will be at Badger Stadium in Arkadelphia pitting the Badgers and Scrappers against each other.

Bob White, RJ Hawk and I will  bring you all of the action at 6:50 pm, right after the Drivetime Sports Sonic Blast.

Aren’t Friday nights FUN?
