Razorback Football Spring Practice Report – Full Pads

FAYETTEVILLE – The Arkansas Razorback football spring practice continued Thursday afternoon in preparation for the 2014 season. Defensive coordinator Robb Smith was available to the media after practice and spoke about the team’s spring practices.

“It was a lot of fun to get out there,” Smith said. “There’s been a lot of energy building up here the last few weeks that I’ve been here, and we had two really good days in non-pads, but to finally get out there and put the shoulder pads on and get out there a little bit is a lot of fun. That’s what football is all about, especially here at Arkansas.”

Smith also spoke about what he would like to see the team accomplish during spring practices.

“The biggest thing for us is that we wanted to start to introduce our scheme,” Smith said.  “There’s some similarities from last year, but there’s going to be some changes, as well. We wanted to get that introduced with our players. Most importantly, we want to create a tempo, an attitude, a way in which we practice. I feel good about what we did these first three days. They’ve got a break now for a week, but I’m anxious to get back and get started up again.”

The Razorbacks will break for the university’s Spring Break next week before continuing spring practices leading up to the Red-White Game on April 26. The game will be held in Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium and broadcast live on CST. Game time is 1 p.m., and admission is free.
