Razorback Report with Jonathan Williams and Alex Collins ‘Video Bomb’ Bonus

FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas football team continued spring practice on Thursday afternoon in preparation for the 2014 season. Defensive coordinator and secondary coach Robb Smith was available to the media after practice and spoke about the growth of the team.

“The most important thing is they’re giving great effort,” Smith said. “There is kind of a hunger, a desire right now for our guys to not only get better from a technique stand point, but they’re in here putting in the extra time, studying, and learning the things that we are trying to do from a schematic stand point as well. We’re still a work in progress; we’ve got a long way to go, but the effort on their part is there.”

Smith also talked about his expectations for the team’s next practice on Saturday.

“I’m looking for continual improvement,” he said. “Every day we add a little bit more scheme-wise, still trying guys in some different spots, and we just want to keep fine tuning our personnel for the scheme that we are going to be.”

Martrell Spaight, senior linebacker for the Razorbacks, said he sees the team’s offense getting better every day and the defense practicing with intensity. He said he thinks the communication among players on the defensive side of the ball is the teams strength and said he isn’t seeing many weaknesses among his teammates at this point in spring drills.

jonathan williams_ alex collins video bombAs interesting and informative as the interview conducted by Leah Blefko with Spaight is in the video below, the most entertaining moment comes at about the 25-second mark, when running backs, Jonathan Williams and Alex Collins “video bomb” the show with a handshake we’ve been practicing around here since we saw it. We need more practice and perhaps a few tips from @jwillpart2 and @buddah03 next time we see them.

The Razorbacks will wrap up their spring practice sessions with the Red-White Spring Game on April 26. The Red-White Spring Game will be held in Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium and broadcast live on CST. Game time is 1 p.m., and admission is free.
