FAYETTEVILLE – The No. 56 Arkansas men’s tennis team will open its 2013 season on Sunday playing a doubleheader with Nebraska-Omaha and South Dakota State in Omaha, Neb.

The Razorbacks are returning five upperclassmen from the 2012 squad including seniors Mike Ward and Gregoire Lehmann. Lehmann spent most of the 2012 season either at the No. 1 or No. 2 spot in singles collecting nine wins from those positions. Juniors Hall Fess, Manfred Jeske and Mike Nott also bring plenty of experience to the court this season. Last season, Fess paired up with then-senior Matt Walters, and the duo went 20-9 in doubles play. Jeske and Nott also combined for a doubles record of 12-8.

Arkansas also brings new faces to the squad this season adding three freshman, Austin Robles, Santiago Munoz and Jacob Herndon, and redshirt junior Pete Thomason. All four players look to bring a spark to the team.

“We are really excited to get the spring season started,” head coach Robert Cox said. “These guys have worked really hard in the off season and it will be great to get out on the court and see how they compete against these two teams.”

Arkansas will take on Nebraska- Omaha at 10 a.m. followed by South Dakota State at 2 p.m. For a full recap of the matches please visit ArkansasRazorbacks.com.
