Rebels Take Two from Lady Lions in Double Header

Oxford, MS- With two games on tap, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Lady Lions took to the diamond in softball action against the Rebels of the University of Mississippi. Ole Miss took the first game 4-0 and wrapped up the second game 16-0.

In the first game, the Rebels were able to shut out the Lady Lions while only giving up two hits. UAPB gave up four runs on 10 hits, as Ole Miss would post runs in the third, fifth, and sixth innings. 

The Lady Lions Lacie Sutterfield was charged with the loss, while registering a complete game. Ole Miss’s Shelby Jo Fenter would get credit for the win striking out 11 batters in seven innings of work. 

In the second half of the double dip, the Ole Miss Rebels jumped out to an early 8-0 lead in the bottom of the first, on four hits and stranding two runners. 

Nikole Frazier would register the Lady Lions only hit of the game in the second inning with a single down the left field line. Ole Miss tallied three more runs in the bottom half of the second and five more runs in the fourth for the 16-0 final.

The Lady Lions head to Conway this weekend for the Central Baptist Tournament, with two games on Friday and two games on Saturday.
