Arkansas State sophomore wide receiver JD McKissic is on the Biletnikoff Award watch list. In fact, he is the only Arkansas football player currently on the watch list.

And here is a secret: The Biletnikoff Award has opened its online Fan Vote for the Biletnikoff Award candidates on the Biletnikoff Award website. Every fan can vote once daily on the Biletnikoff Award Fan Vote page. The aggregate fan tally will be counted as one official vote for semi-finalists (ten receivers), finalists (three), and the winner.

At last check, McKissic had no votes. Every Arkansas football fan can cast a vote to support a fellow sporting life Arkansas, surely.

McKissic finished the 2012 season with a school-record 103 receptions for 1,022 yards, the second most in ASU history, and five touchdowns. He became just the second player in school history to be named to the Football Writers Association of America Freshman All-America team. He also garnered Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year honors and was named the GoDaddy.com Bowl Offensive MVP.

McKissic earned second team SBC all-conference honors this past season, and ended the year with the most receptions and receiving yards ever by a Sun Belt freshman. He finished the year ranked second in receptions and third in receiving yards among all Sun Belt players, while his receptions total was also the fourth most all-time in the conference’s history.

The Penix, City, Ala., native led the nation among freshman with 103 receptions and his 1,022 yards were the third most. Among all players, he finished seventh in the nation in catches ranked in the top-40 in receiving yards.

He caught a career-high 12 passes against ULM and Troy during his freshman campaign and recorded at least eight receptions in eight contests. He tied the school record for receptions in a postseason game with game 11 for 113 yards against Kent State in the GoDaddy.com Bowl.

McKissic is the first A-State wide out to be named to the watch list since the 2011 season when Dwayne Frampton and Josh Jarboe were on the list.

The Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc. will announce the ten Biletnikoff Award semifinalists on November 18, 2013, following the vote by the Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee. Likewise, the three finalists will be declared, following another vote, on November 25, 2013.
