Red Wolves Women’s Golf Opens Play at Sir Pizza Terrapin Challenge

The Arkansas State women’s golf team began play at the Sir Pizza Terrapin Challenge Monday, shooting a combined 647 at Shula’s Golf Club to end the 54-hole tournament’s first two rounds in 16th place.

The Red Wolves shot a 322 and 325 for the fist and second rounds, respectively. A-State was led by Anna Carling, who finished with a 159 that placed her tied for 58th. Carling shot an 80 in the early round before coming back in the afternoon to card a 79, tying the lowest single-round score of the day by an ASU player.

Following Carling for A-State, Abi Laker is tied for 66th place (80-81–161), Jennifer Loiacano tied for 73rd (80-83–163), Marie Couffignal tied for 77th (82-82–164) and Clara Tefteller tied for 88th (87-87–174). Competing as an individual, Courtney Manning is tied for 70th place (83-79–162).

North Carolina State is currently in first place with a 590, while Florida International is second with a 591 and Kansas third with a 597.

The tournament’s third and final round will be played Tuesday.
