Reddies Golf Wins First Federal Bank Invitational

Henderson State turned in a two-day total 586 to win the First Federal Bank Invitational in Branson, Mo. The win was Henderson’s second tournament victory of the year as the Reddies won the Jim Bishop Toyota Spring Classic two weeks ago. After posting a team score of 288 on Monday, the Reddies fought through windy conditions and posted a score of 298 on Tuesday.

Matt Jennings and Wess Webb led the Reddies with the two finishing tied for second-place. Jennings turned in rounds of 71 and 72, while Webb shot a tournament low round of 68 on day one, and carded a 75 on the final 18 holes. Jennings led the field with 28 pars while Webb totaled six birdies to lead the team.

Gil Debusscher also recorded a top five finish for the Reddies posting a 36-hole total of 146 having rounds of 70 and 76 on the par 71, 6,922-yard Branson Creek Course.

Joseph Hausberger tied for 14th with identical rounds of 75, while Baxter Woosley finished tied for 24th with a score of 153. Hausberger played 25 holes at even par, finishing just 3-over in par 4-scoring.

Antoine Lairy improved his second round score by nine strokes, posting a round of 1-over par 72. Lairy finished tied for 24th-place with a two round total of 153.

Jared Black ended the tournament tied for 29th after scores of 74 and 80.

Winston Sizemore turned in a second day score of 81 to finish with a 159 total and tied for 44th-place.

Henderson won the tournament by seven strokes over second-place St. Cloud State (593). Newman finished third (596), Central Baptist fourth (600), and Missouri Southern State fifth (604). Sioux Falls posted a two-day score of 606 to place sixth, while Fort Hays State was seventh (614), followed by Rockhurst in eighth (617), Delta State ninth (618) and Murray State tenth (628).
