RUSSELLVILLE, Ark.- The Ouachita Tiger tennis team, under the direction of Head Coach Craig Ward, has been chosen as the favorite to win the Great American Conference crown just a year after winning the honor in the inaugural season of play.

The Great American Conference preseason poll saw the Tigers picked first, receiving three of the four first place votes. The Tigers picked up nine points in the poll, followed by Southeastern Oklahoma with six points, East Central with five points and Harding with four.

Coach Ward and his Tigers advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2012, advancing all the way to the Elite Eight before falling to West Florida University, who finished as the NCAA Runner-up.

Ouachita kicks off their campaign on February 1, when they take on Southwest Baptist University at home.
