CONWAY, Ark. – Harding’s men won the 4×400-meter relay and sophomore Ryan Cagle won the shot put at the 2013 UCA Open on Saturday.
Harding’s mile relay team of Kevin Naceanceno, Kory Howard, Dillon Bagwell and Landon Belcher defeated six other teams to win in 3 minutes, 15.60 seconds, the 11th-fastest time recorded in Division II this season.
Cagle, a sophomore from Nashville, Tenn., won with a mark of 44 feet, 10.75 inches, more than three feet further than second-place finisher Kenny Duong, a freshman from Harding.
The Bisons had several top-five finishes in the running events. Jacek Dybowski was second in the 800 meters in 1:55.85. Howard was third in the 400 meters in 49.92. Lajos Farkas was third in the 10,000 meters in 32:33.42. Andrew Evans was fourth in the 5,000 meters in 14:57.26, and Milosz Golik was fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:04.96.
Harding competes next Saturday in its only home meet of the season, the Bison Challenge, at First Security Stadium.
