Warriors Tennis Swept by Panthers

CONWAY, Ark. – The Hendrix College men’s tennis team suffered a 9-0 defeat to Birmingham-Southern College in Southern Athletic Association play on Thursday.

The visiting Panthers (5-3, 1-1) started with a sweep of doubles, however they needed a tiebreaker set to win the second flight. The Warriors (1-7, 0-2), represented by senior Udai Garimella and sophomore Nick Berardi in number two doubles, fell to Tony DaMaia and Christian Matthews 9-8 (10-4).

Garimella also had the closest match in singles, losing to Matthews 6-0, 7-5 at the second spot. Sophomore Robert Sheets lost the first singles match to Sawyer Voges 6-0, 6-2.

Hendrix will host SAA foe Millsaps College on Friday at 1 p.m.
