Williams Baptist College Pitcher Karisa Hendrix A Capital One Academic All-American

Walnut Ridge, Ark. – Williams Baptist College senior Karisa Hendrix has added another prestigious honor to the numerous awards from her stellar career as a Lady Eagles softball player.  She has been voted as a Capital One Academic All-American.

Hendrix becomes the first student-athlete from Williams to earn the award, which is voted on by members of COSIDA.  COSIDA consists of sports information directors across the United States.

The award combines athletic achievement with academic achievement.  Hendrix received a Bachelors of Science in Education of Social Studies on May 4.   She landed on the President’s List in her last semester.

“It becomes cliché, but Karisa is more than an All-American pitcher for us.  It is more than any stat would recognize.  She is a special human being, she is a fine Christian and is highly sought after from not only our team, but students around campus,” said Head Coach Eric Newell.

Hendrix is a pitcher from Cherokee Village, Ark. She is the daughter of Kevin and Michelle Hendrix.
