Williams Baptist Lady Eagles Fall to Scots

Walnut Ridge, Ark. – American Midwest Conference play resumed Saturday for the Lady Eagles from Williams Baptist College as they traveled to Batesville, Ark., to play against the 23rd ranked Scots from Lyon College. After a strong first half, the Lady Eagles fell 54-47 in the low scoring affair.

Williams’ hot start gave them a 28-23 lead at the break and the lead was extended to seven points early in the second half, but the Scots came storming back and outscored the Lady Eagles 31-19 down the stretch to pull away for a victory.

Cheyenne Childers was the lone WBC player to reach double figures with 15 points. She added seven rebounds, including four offensive boards. Michaela Thompson also contributed on the glass with nine rebounds. Williams out-rebounded Lyon 36-28 in the game.

WBC will jump back on the court for a matchup with AMC foe Stephens College on Thursday January 10. The game will be played at 7 p.m., in the Southerland-Mabee Center in Walnut Ridge.
