Alex Collins has chosen the University of Arkansas.
He will be a Razorback.
Alex Collins Tweets:
I apologize to every fan and coach the I disappointed or let Down but it had to be a decision I made for me because this is where I will be— alexander collins (@Budda03) February 5, 2013
After Collins announced his decision, Bielema tweets this:
Wooooo pig sooooie!Great night to be a Razorback!— Bret Bielema (@BretBielema) February 5, 2013
We think the Hogs’ head football coach is good at using Twitter and having fun with it, too. You can read more of his tweets from the past here.
Here’s another fun hint/tease from Bret Bielema posted a few nights ago. Budda03 is Alex Collin’s nickname/handle on Twitter.
And for what it’s worth, Alex retweeted this post from Bielema to his followers on the social media service, too.
Got a home visit from the head coach offensive coordinator runningback coach and defensive line coach of university of Arkansas. Great visit— alexander collins (@Budda03) January 30, 2013
This tweet from Offensive Coordinator Charlie Partridge, a Florida native, was retweeted by Alex Collins.
Thank you Parkway!!Always love being home!! #WPS— Charlie Partridge (@CoachPartridge) January 30, 2013
Collins is clearly having fun with his recruiting process and Twitter.
It’s nice to see the positive side of recruiting and social media.
In late January, Bret Bielema’s Arkansas Razorbacks football program will host Alex Collins, the top all-purpose back in the country, a senior running back from South Plantation High School in Plantation, Fla. He’s 5’11, 195 and had listed Wisconsin as one of the schools he was interested in checking out.
While you’re here, order your free Razorback Recruiting issue from Sporting Life Arkansas. The issue will feature exclusive commentary from Jim Harris and Nate Olson, and the only way to get it is to order it.
Oh, and in addition to the Badgers, Collins has indicated interest in Florida State, Florida, Miami, and Louisville, among others.
Collins is listed as a five star recruit by some services. We thought you would appreciate seeing him action. Below are a handful of his highlight reels. We think you’re going to be impressed.
