Doc HarperDoc Harper doesn’t cheer in the press box but is a fan who just tries hard to remain objective. He has been covering sports in Arkansas since 2005 when he began reporting on high school football for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. In 2011, he began writing about college football for ArkansasSports360.com and in 2012 became part of the Y’all Play Nice SEC column on CollegeFootballNews.com. He is also the the managing editor for ArkansasExpats.com, the SB Nation site for the Razorbacks.

Doc is a Little Rock native and earned an English degree from University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, where he developed a deep love for the River Valley, and went to graduate school at UALR. He’ll tell you that Twitter has helped him in his writing career as much as anything else, and you can follow him here.

He considers sports to be great theatre, and you’re almost as likely to find him at The Rep as you are in Razorback Stadium. He enjoys driving around, studying television, barbecue, and would rather eat in a seafood shack near the ocean instead of just about anywhere else. He goes to a small beach town in Florida every summer, but doesn’t want to share which one because it’s still a small town and he wants to keep it secret.

He considers himself to be a cross between Jimmy Buffet and Prince.
