Jim Harris: Stars Schmars! Head Hog Calls Good 2016 Recruiting Class

We like to call it the Arkyana Hog Podcast hosted by Jim Harris.

Louisiana natives, former Razorback football players and current Little Rock residents Mike Shepherd and Rick David give their thoughts and analysis on the Razorbacks 2016 Recruiting class and the ignorance of the “star” rating system for recruits. The trio also discuss the good news of losing coaches to the NFL.

Already focused on spring, you can hear what to expect and what you should hope to see heading into summer.

The Bret Jet Goes Coast to Coast

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Recruiting on the road for a top-flight college football program is a given for every head coach. As student-athletes graduate, or declare for the NFL Draft, a college football coach has to constantly search for and attract new players every year that support a particular style of play or philosophy — and sometimes — both.

Arkansas head football coach Bret Bielema isn’t immune to this universal college football constant, and in order to haul in the 2016 recruiting class – one of the best signing classes in program history – Bielema had to travel.

The interactive Google Map here illustrates Bret Bielema’s recruiting travels from Nov. 29, 2015 to Jan. 29, 2016. Click on the flight lines to see how far he traveled from one city to another, and also view his entire six-week-long itinerary. In total, Bielema logged about 20,000 miles in the air.
