Razorback Spring Football Practice Begins

FAYETTEVILLE — The University of Arkansas Razorback spring football practice continued Tuesday in preparation for the 2014 season. Offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Jim Chaney met with the media afterwards and discussed how the team has progressed.

“We’re just really trying to focus on the details and the way that we do things right now,” Chaney said. “We’re not trying to get in a ton of volume right at this point, but rather just execute and get the timing right.”

Coach Chaney spoke about which group on offense has made a good initial impression.

“The first day, all of the tight ends really stuck out to me,” Chaney said. “They’re looking good so far as well as a lot of the other groups. We’re encouraged by the attitude and work ethic from all of the guys so far.”

The University of Arkansas football team’s annual Red-White Spring Game will be held April 26 at 1 p.m. and be aired on Cox Sports Television (CST).

The Red-White Spring Game annually wraps up the Razorbacks’ spring practices. Last season an Arkansas spring game record crowd of 51,088 fans was in attendance for head coach Bret Bielema‘s first spring game. The record crowd marked the third straight season the Razorbacks’ eclipsed their previous spring game attendance record.

The game will be played inside Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville and is free to attend. The 2014 season opens Aug. 30 at Auburn, and Arkansas’ first home game is set for Sept. 6 against Nicholls State.
