Head coach Dave Van Horn met with the media and gave an update on how preseason practices have been going.

“So far, preseason practice has gone very well,” Coach Van Horn said. “The weather’s been outstanding for this time of year. I feel like, due to all the time outside, we should get off to a good start as far as fielding the baseball and swinging the bat.”

Coach Van Horn also talked about the need to improve each day in order for the team to reach its goals.

“We can’t get to Omaha today,” Coach Van Horn said. “We’ve got to practice today, get better this weekend and then continue to improve throughout the season and give ourselves a chance. It’s not something that we sit around and dwell on. We just work towards getting to the end. We have a long way to go before that opportunity will be here.”

The Razorbacks open the 2013 season on Friday, Feb. 15, when they host Western Illinois. First pitch is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. Season tickets for Arkansas’ 34-game home schedule are now on sale. Season tickets are $190 for adults and $140 for University of Arkansas staff, youth and senior citizens. Tickets may be purchased by calling 1-800-982-HOGS (4647) or by visiting the online ticket center at ArkansasRazorbacks.com.
