Topics for the live discussion Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013:
- Best Sports Venues in Arkansas: Last week the sports desk took a quick trip to Harding University in Searcy, Ark. to visit the famed Rhodes Field House. In the process, we have been told of many other sports venues around the state we should check out, and we will. We want to know what you think are the hidden gems and not-so-hidden gems to watch sports in Arkansas. Is there high school gym or ball field you say is the best or most unique? What makes a great sports venue to you?
- Arkansas State the Next Boise State?: Las year about this time the buzz phrase regarding Red Wolves football, at least, was “the next level.” Emerging from that mantra, touted by then-head football coach Gus Malzahn, was the idea that Arkansas State could become theBoise State of the South. Is this possible? What would it take? Is there something wrong with that as a goal for Arkansas State?
- Basketball: We’re in the home stretch of all-things basketball in Arkansas. Arkansas State has wrapped up the Sun Belt Conference’s West Division; UALR is faltering down the stretch and the Razorbacks are scrambling to stay on the bubble. Oh, and high school playoffs are in full swing. What should we be watching for in the waning days of the basketball season? Predictions? NIT? NCAA? Conference tourney runs? State champs? Let’s break it all down.
- NFL Combine: Three Arkansas schools were represented by 8 total players in this year’sNFL Scouting Combine. Who impressed you? What do you think about the draft possibilities now that this event’s dust is settling?
