The Razorbacks Host Two Conference Tennis Matches

FAYETTEVILLE – The No. 54 University of Arkansas men’s tennis team will host No. 12 Mississippi State Friday at 1 p.m. and No. 7 Ole Miss Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Billingsley Tennis Center.

“We are really excited to be back on our home courts this weekend,” head coach Robert Cox said.

The Razorbacks are coming into this weekend with a 12-8 record having recently defeated UT Pan American 6-1 on Tuesday in College Station, Texas.

Arkansas will be taking on a Mississippi State team who last weekend fell to Kentucky and Vanderbilt in close matches. The Bulldogs have an overall season record of 12-6 while being 2-4 in conference play. Auburn and Alabama are the Bulldogs two conference victories.

Ole Miss, like Mississippi State failed to beat Kentucky and Vanderbilt last weekend, dropping its first conference matches of the season. The Rebels have an overall record of 11-4 and while being 4-2 in conference play.

“We are going to need to come out strong this weekend,” Coach Cox said. “Both Mississippi teams are very solid in singles and doubles play and we are ready for the challenge.”
