Arkansas Team Preps for Cal Ripken World Series

On August 7, 2014 a team of 12-year old baseball players from Little Rock will head to the Cal Ripken World Series (CRWS) in Aberdeen, Maryland. The Junior Deputy All Star Rangers will be representing their city, state and Southwest Region in this once in a lifetime experience. Led by head coach Jeff Poe and captained by Robert Bavon, their road to the CRWS was carefully plotted and executed with great intention. The team practiced, participated in local summer tournaments for formation, won the State Tournament and, finally, won the Southwest Regional Tournament. This final step carried with it an invitation to World Series – something that is only offered to 18 teams in the world! In addition to 10 teams from America and a team from Puerto Rico, countries represented are: Australia, Canada, Dominican Republic, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, and the Republic of Korea.

The team did no fundraising ahead of time for a World Series trip because it wasn’t theirs to claim until they had earned it. Now, with just a two-week turnaround, the JD Little Rock Rangers need your help!

The team needs your support as they prepare to head to the Cal Ripken World Series! Your tax deductible donation will help underwrite the expenses of travel, lodging and meals for these boys and their coaches.  Why do we ask for your support?  Because a team of boys from Arkansas has earned the privilege of representing our state in a world arena. Why else? Because participation in this experience is just the sort of thing that helps turn boys into responsible young men!
