The Arkansas high school football playoffs continued Friday night with semi-finals in the 4A, 3A and 2A classifications, while the Bentonville Tigers defeated the Cabot Panthers at War Memorial Stadium to claim the states 7A title. The final in that game: Bentonville 39, Cabot 28.
Championship action continues in Little Rock today as the 5A finals, featuring Morrilton and Batesville, begin at noon; the 6A finals are tonight at 6:30, pitting Pine Bluff and El Dorado for the title.
In the semi-final action around the state last night, Warren defeated Valley View 27-20 in one of the 4A games, while Booneville beat PB Dollarway 43-14 in the other 4A game.
In 3A semi-final games, Charleston beat Earle, 46-8 and Glen Rose bested Smackover, 54-24.
The 2A semi-finals had Des Arc winning 8-0 over Bearden and Junction City beating Carlisle, 38-28. (Updated playoff brackets for 2A, 3A and 4A are below the Bentonville/Cabot box score.)
