UAFS Lions Finish Golf Tournament 14th

Sophomore Dylan Lovell shot a 10-over par 226 to lead the UAFS Lions golf team to a 14^th-place finish in the Dallas Baptist Patriots Classic on Tuesday at Hackberry Creek Country Club in Irving, Texas.

UAFS shot a 77-over 941 (302-318-321) during the three-round, two-day affair that featured 16 teams. The Lions finished 54 strokes behind winner and fellow Heartland Conference member Oklahoma Christian, which shot a 23-over 887 (294-289-304). Oklahoma Christian beat fellow conference member and host Dallas Baptist by four strokes.

Lovell shot rounds of 71-76-79 and finished tied for 19^th overall. Senior Patrick Willey shot a 14-over 230 (72-74-84) and finished tied for 31^st, senior Josh Buchanan shot a 21-over 237 (79-86-72) and finished tied for 54^th, freshman Tyler Reynolds shot a 24-over 248 (80-82-86) and finished tied for 77^th and sophomore Josh Tomlinson shot a 56-over 272 (94-88-90) and finished 85^th.

Abilene Christian’s Alex Carpenter shot a 6-under 210 (69-71-70) to earn medalist honors, beating Cameron University’s Trey Lawson by five strokes.
