Golden Lions Take the Sting Out of Hornets

Pine Bluff, AR- The University of Arkansas Pine Bluff Golden Lions welcomed the Hornets of Alabama State to H.O. Clemmons Arena for Community Appreciation Night. The Golden Lions opened up an 11 point lead at the 6:45 mark of the first half and didn’t relinquish the lead for the rest of the night.

The Golden Lions finished off the Hornets with a score of 73-58. Daniel Broughton led the scoring barrage for UAPB with a double double turning in 19 points and 10 rebounds on nine of twelve shooting. Davon Haynes added 17 points and Lazabian Jackson turned in 10.

Stephawn Brown led the charge for the Hornets with 13 points.

Up next for the Golden Lions is a visit from the Bulldogs of Alabama A&M. The game is scheduled for Tuesday January, 8th. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM. This is also Military and First Responders Night; any current member of the Armed Forces, any Veterans, and First Responder Units will get free admission by showing a Military or First Responder’s ID or by wearing your respective uniform.
