Nashville, Tenn. – The No. 47 University of Arkansas men’s tennis team dropped its match 6-1 against No. 25 Vanderbilt, Sunday afternoon, at the Currey Tennis Center.
The Razorbacks could not get going against the Commodores from the beginning, dropping all three doubles matches.
The highlight of the day was a three-set victory for senior Mike Ward over Marc van der Merwe on court three. Ward easily took the first set 6-2. He then dropped the second 3-6, but battled back in a third-set tiebreak taking the third 7-6 (3).
Arkansas will open home SEC play this weekend beginning Friday when it hosts Alabama at 1:30 p.m. Auburn comes to town Sunday to take on the Razorbacks at 1 p.m.
